FAQS
Future Freight CRC is a proposal to the government to obtain funding from the CRC Program to undertake projects that benefit freight businesses and stakeholders and boost the sector. We will undertake high impact collaborations that will improve resilience, decarbonisation efforts, safety and efficiency across road, rail, sea, air and intermodal.
We fund the centre admin with the government grant. All the funds that you put into the centre will be used on the projects that you decide to undertake. The support we offer is therefore without charge to you.
Absolutely. Contact us and we will formulate a plan. We can come in and run workshops and information sessions amongst other activities.
We reduce the risk in your projects by:
- providing government funding
- ensuring the scope is well defined and agreed upon
- having clear objectives and path to utilisation
- clear and simple contracts
- regular project oversight and mediation if needed
- payments only being made with approval of completed work by all project parties
The minimum investment would normally be around $100k a year, however the investment arrangements depend on partners’ needs and we discuss this with each partner individually.
As soon as possible so we can integrate your high level objectives into the proposal to the Commonwealth. We expect to formalise participation for stage 1 in the second half of 2025.
This is usually a 2:1 arrangement for foundation partners. For every dollar that the industry or government lead partner invests in a project, it will be matched. This can vary with projects that have more parties.
The commitment is structured to suit your needs. Talk to us to find out what this could look like.
Talk to us about what you are trying to achieve as soon as possible. Once the centre is up and running we have well defined processes and experienced staff to get projects off the ground.
If successful with the bid we would be able to have the centre up and running early to mid 2027.
IP usually vests with the lead industry partner unless otherwise negotiated. This is the default arrangement in our contracts, however we can facilitate a different arrangement if needed. For example some government lead partners may not want to own any IP that is created.
