FFCRC stage 2 bid submitted!

The bid team is pleased to advise that we submitted the stage 2 bid application to the CRC Program yesterday.  This included amongst other things:

  • addressing committee feedback from stage 1
  • expanding detail on our precincts for live trials and testing, adding new sites
  • additional partners and contributions
  • proposed Commonwealth milestones (agreed outputs of the centre)
  • an impact analysis showing national benefit from the R&D

The stage 2 submission was a huge effort, and we thank our partners and other stakeholders for their input and support as we pulled it all together.

There is huge momentum behind the bid and a notable further uptick in interest, partners and commitments since we got through stage 1 of the bid process.

We are currently focused on preparing for our interview on the 4th November, including briefings and mock interviews with the people from the bid team and partner organisations representing FFCRC at the interview.

We expect to hear back on the stage 2 application in early 2027, depending on government timelines.

Over the last two years as we constructed the bid, the case for a freight specific CRC and the need for collaboration to solve challenges has increased significantly. We are at a critical time with the freight and logistics sector, and we see a strong desire to innovate both in our partners and the wider sector. We look forward to the opportunity to support this by getting FFCRC operational in 2027.

As always, if you have any questions please reach out!
