Future Freight CRC bid submitted!
Last week, we submitted the Future Freight CRC Stage 1 bid application to the Australian Government CRC Program.
This is an important milestone, and one that reflects a major collective effort from the freight community.
We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported the bid so far. The response has been extraordinary. By the time we submitted, the bid had secured $67 million in cash investment, with $130 million of in-kind, from 63 partners across the freight ecosystem.
That breadth of support is important for the remit of the centre. The challenges facing freight in Australia are complex, interconnected, and urgent. They cannot be solved by any one organisation, sector, or discipline alone.
Future Freight CRC brings together the different parts of the system needed to make progress, including government, industry, technology, energy, manufacturing, peak bodies, and the research community.
What’s next?
We expect to hear the outcome of the Stage 1 process around July – August this year. In the meantime, we will continue refining the bid and preparing the elements necessary for a stage 2 submission. We feel that we have submitted a strong bid and we are optimistic about the stage 1 outcome.
Stage 2 involves an interview likely to be around October this year, with final outcomes expected to be announced in early 2027.
We will keep you updated as things progress. Feel free to contact us at any time with questions or feedback about the bid.
All the best,
Lee-Ann Breger
